A big fullscreen countdown timer you can read from across the room. Pick a preset or set hours, minutes and seconds, add a label, and press Start. It beeps at zero and then counts the overtime in red. Copy a link to send the same timer to someone else.
How to use the countdown timer
- Pick a preset (1 to 60 minutes) or type your own hours, minutes and seconds.
- Add a label if you like, such as Quiz, Break or Talk. It shows above the time.
- Press Start, or Space on a keyboard. Space pauses it again and R resets it.
- Press F for fullscreen. At zero it beeps, the screen glows red and the overtime starts counting.
What it is good for
- Classrooms
- Put a timer for a test or an activity on the projector, big enough for the back row.
- Presentations and talks
- A speaker timer on a confidence monitor. The red overtime shows when to wrap up.
- Workouts
- Rounds and rest periods you can see from the floor.
- Cooking and games
- A kitchen timer or a turn timer for board games on a tablet.
Share a timer
Copy timer link gives you a link with the length and label built in. Anyone who opens it gets the same timer, ready to start. For a date further away, use the event countdown; for focus sessions, the Pomodoro timer.
Questions
Does the timer keep running in a background tab?
Yes. It counts down to a fixed end time, so it stays right even when the tab is in the background, and keeps going if you reload the page.
Why is there no sound?
Browsers only allow sound after you interact with the page, so press Start yourself rather than relying on a shared link. Check that Sound is on and your device is not muted.
Can I add time while it runs?
Yes. Press +1 min to add a minute without stopping the timer.
How do I go fullscreen?
Press F on a keyboard, or use the fullscreen button in the bar at the bottom. Press Esc or F again to leave. On iPhone, Safari does not allow real fullscreen, so add the page to your home screen for the cleanest view.
