Bouncing DVD Screensaver

How to use

The bouncing DVD logo screensaver in your browser. It drifts around the screen, changes color every time it hits an edge, and counts each time it lands exactly in a corner.

How to use it

  1. Press F or the fullscreen button.
  2. Move the mouse away so the controls and cursor fade out.
  3. Wait for the corner. The counter in the top right appears after the first perfect hit.

Will it hit the corner?

Whether the logo ever hits a corner depends on the screen size, the logo size and where it starts, which is why waiting for it became a running joke. On some screen sizes it happens every few minutes; on others it can take a very long time. Resize the window to change its path.

Questions

Does a corner hit count if it is close?

It counts when the logo touches two edges within a few pixels of each other, so near misses do not count.

Can I leave it running all day?

Yes. It uses very little power. On OLED screens, a moving image is safer than a still one.

How do I go fullscreen?

Press F on a keyboard, or use the fullscreen button in the bar at the bottom. Press Esc or F again to leave. On iPhone, Safari does not allow real fullscreen, so add the page to your home screen for the cleanest view.
